COMMON LANDS - Allmannaretten var et temporært kunstprosjekt som tok utgangspunkt i den pågående byutviklingen i Bjørvika i Oslo. Prosjektet hadde oppstart 12 mai 2009 og ble avsluttet November 2011.

Tre kunstnerduoer ble invitert til å utvikle nye arbeider for Common Lands i prosjektperioden. Bik Van der Pol, Dellbrügge & de Moll og Geir Tore Holm & Søssa Jørgensen.

COMMON LANDS - Allmannaretten was a temporary artproject that took the ongoing city development of Bjørvika Oslo as the point of departure. The project started on May 12th 2009 and was finished in November 2011.

Three artistduos was comissioned to develop new work in conjunction to Common Lands: Bik Van der Pol, Dellbrügge & de Moll and Geir Tore Holm & Søssa Jørgensen.

COMMON LANDS - Allmannaretten was curated by Åse Løvgren and Karolin Tampere. It was comissioned by Bjørvika Utvikling, the main developer of Bjørvika, as a pilot for an Art and Culture Programme in this new neighbourhood of Oslo. The projects that followed after Common Lands and within that Program was Kunsthall Oslo and Slow Space.

Kunsthall Oslo is a non-profit art space located in the Bjørvika area of central Oslo. The space presents a programme of international contemporary art, with an emphasis on new commissions and a parallel commitment to exploring the social and historical context of contemporary art production. www.kunsthalloslo.no

Slow Space is the public art programme for Bjørvika. Four new projects for will unfold over the next five years: from large-scale sculptural interventions to collaborative food production from works which allude to the contemporary past to those which stretch into the future beyond our lifetime. www.slowspace.no
